Syllabus to calendar
Paste your syllabus or drop the PDF. You'll see every exam and deadline it lists, with the line each came from, and get them as a file for Google, Apple or Outlook calendar. It's read in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Check the dates
Untick anything you don't want, fix any date, then download. The line under each one is where it came from.
How to add it to your calendar
- Google Calendar (on a computer): Settings, then Import & export, choose the file, then Import.
- Apple Calendar: on a Mac, File, then Import. On an iPhone, open the file from Files or Mail and tap Add All.
- Outlook (on the web): Add calendar, then Upload from file.
Coursebird
Every class, kept in sync.
Coursebird reads all your syllabi and your course site together, adds the exams your professors haven't posted yet, and tells you when a date moves. Free.
Questions
Is my syllabus uploaded anywhere?
No. The text, and the PDF if you drop one, is read on this page, in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is kept after you close the page.
Why does it ask for the first day of classes?
Many syllabi list exams by week ("Exam 2: Week 7"). With the first day of classes it can turn a week into real days, narrowed to the days your class meets. Without it, those exams are listed for you to date by hand.
Will the dates update if my professor changes them?
No. A calendar file is a copy of the dates on the day you made it. If a date moves, edit it in your calendar, or make a new file. Coursebird watches for changes and tells you when a date moves.
My PDF shows nothing. Why?
Some PDFs are scans: pictures of pages, with no text in them to read. Copy the text from your course site's syllabus page and paste it instead.
How do I add the file to my calendar?
Google Calendar on a computer: Settings, then Import & export, choose the file, then Import. Apple Calendar on a Mac: File, then Import. On an iPhone, open the file from Files or Mail and tap Add All. Outlook on the web: Add calendar, then Upload from file.
